On May 6, 2012, Jewish Family Services (JFS) celebrated Seis de Mayo, CANtina 2012 in Winter Park.  The purpose of the event was to help bring awareness of hunger in our community.  Proceeds of Seis de Mayo benefitted JFS vital services and its two food pantries: the Pearlman Pantry in Winter Park and the Darden Restaurants Foundation Pantry in southwest Orlando.

This year, JFS honored the Pearlman family: Craig and Rhonda, Lynn Pearlman Minkow, and Bill and Donna Pearlman Bolton, and their families.  They were presented with the prestigious Chesed Award for their commitments to JFS and the community.

The Chesed Award exemplifies an individual who gives of himself/herself to benefit others who are less fortunate; the word itself means “acts of loving kindness.” Craig, Lynn, and Donna exemplify the true meaning of chesed and are steadfast in following in the footsteps of their parents, David and Audrey Pearlman.  In 2011 alone, the Pearlman Pantry distributed nearly 100,000 meals.

In addition to being a Shareholder with the law firm, Craig has an extensive record of philanthropic work in the Greater Orlando community.  While he is currently serving on the Board of Directors for the Jewish Family Services of Greater Orlando, he has previously been on the Board of Directors for March of Dimes, Kiwanis Club of Central Orlando, and Hospice of the Comforter.
